Optical Coherence Tomography of The Optic Disc and the Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer

OCT utilizes a technique that is known as optical coherence tomography. This examination creates a topographic map of the head of the optic nerve and its cupping and measures the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layer. It helps the detection of early damage and monitoring the progression of glaucoma.
